NEWBORN SESSION FAQ
When should I book my newborn session?
The best time to shedule your session is before your little one is born. It’s never to early to book! Book a month in advance! Sessions are scheduled when baby is between 5-21 days new to ensure a sleepy baby. Baby’s older than that will be less flexible, more alert and harder to pose.
How do I book Without knowing my session date?
Your due date will be your session date so we can be sure that your on my calendar for that month, once baby is born and you are ready to go home all you need to do is send me an email or text and we’ll schedule a session within the first 5-21 days of your baby’s arrival. I only book a certain amount of newborn per month to ensure flexibility on babies arrivals.
Is it safe to do a photo session of a newborn?
In a short answer, yes! it is safe to do a photo session.
You might be hesitant of taking your baby out of the house at such young age. To give you a bit of perspective, when you take your baby to the pediatrician, you are exposing your baby to other sick kids and air with germs.
At my studio, it is only you, your spouse, your baby and myself. I do not allow sick people into my studio. My studio gets cleaned and sanitized after every session, as well, as everything the baby touches. It is a cozy place, and you are right there behind me, watching everything I do with your baby.
As professional, and as a Mom, I take your baby's safety as my top priority . I will never put them at risk, not in dangerous poses, poses I feel are unnatural for a baby, not unsafe props, not in a dangerous environment. Simple natural poses are the most beautiful. I am also up to date on all my vaccines. I am trained in newborn photography safety and in posed newborn photography so that I can provide you with the safest poses and best quality images. Keeping your little one safe in each beautiful pose will always be my number one focus.

We have taken gentle care to think of every little detail so that you and your baby feel pampered and relaxed. The session focuses on capturing natural, timeless photographs of your newborn baby so that you can remember exactly how tiny they were, and capturing all of the little details like tiny fingers, foots , cute nose ,lips ect.
How long does the session last?
Newborn sessions can last up to 2 -3 hours so please plan accordingly. You may want to pack yourself a lunch and snacks (Mini fridge & microwave available). This allows pausing the sessions to allow time for baby feeding , changing , and soothing, and lots of cuddles. Babies can get very fussy, so there will be a lot of soothing! Just that will take up most the session! The length of the session will be determined by the baby, your baby is my boss! I will take my time and will not rush the session.Sometimes parents may be called upon to "work". Some poses require assistance from Mom or Dad as a spotter, Baby safety Is ALWAYS number one in my studio, I will let you know when help is needed. I have everything needed for your newborn session. Hats, bonnets, outfits, wraps and props. If there is a sentimental item you would like included, please let me know ahead of time so I can plan a setup around the item. Other things to bring include a pacifier (even if your baby doesn't use one yet - I recommend the "Avent Soothie brand (I have a few new in packages in my studio available for use as well). Pacifier will help get into poses easier .Babies eat MUCH more than they normally would at a session. It is completely normal!
Do you supply the outfits?
Yes! The studio is filled with cute little simple neutral color outfits, head bands, blankets, wraps ect. All you need to do is bring baby in a onesie that Easily comes off and their blanket.
Why is the room kept warm?
Babies are accustomed to being warm and cozy in their mamas stomach, they are unable to regulate their body temperature and are used to being in a 98.6 degree environment in the womb, so we keep newborn room warm to help them retain their body heat while unclothed .Warm temperatures replicate that environment and help them feel sleepy, easily settle into poses, and a less fussy baby . I keep the newborn room warm (80 degrees) to keep baby cozy during the session so it can get hot for you!
Do you use props and pose baby?
My style In newborn photography is very natural . I dont use crazy props. I prefer The focus to be on the baby. I will only use simple props like a mini beds, baskets, or bowls . I will use simple solid color blankets and wraps as I pose your baby in safe and natural poses only. I will not pose baby In poses that I feel are unsafe. I will also not force a baby into a pose if i see they are uncomfortable in it.
Before Your session You'll Choose The Color scheme Of The Blankets and Wraps .At the studio I have blankets and wraps in soft, neutral colours that I'll use to lie your baby down on and wrap them in during the session. They're freshly laundered before each session.
